Choosing Missions for My Children

Choosing Missions ... for My ChildrenBefore I became a parent, my main perspective about raising a missionary family came from my positive experiences in the Philippines. I loved being a missionary kid (MK) and to me, the Philippines was home in every sense of the word. As I became an adult, I realized that not every MK is grateful to have grown up overseas, for reasons as varied as the landscape of loving it. Instead, for them, the only way they would use the word “positive” in the same…See More

And now it begins. Again.

My First BeginningThirty-four years, two months, and twenty-four days ago, I was born into a missionary family. As I told WorldVenture, our missions agency of choice, "I took my first breaths on March 13, 1975 at 5,280 feet above sea level, when a Jewish doctor delivered me into the waiting arms of an Italian, Conservative Baptist, ex-Catholic priest and his Filipino wife. No, this is not the beginning of a bad joke ... it really was how my life began and I am grateful to God for it! My parents…See More

Wow Marie, thanks for the story of how our wonderful God has worked in your life. Praising His name for His goodness to you. Welcome to WorldVenture!!!! "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Matt 5:16/Eph2:10"

Visits

January 31, 2012We would like to share about one family of the children at risk we have visited. One day we arrived to do the Bible study and both parents were drunk! Another day the father was at work and the mother was drunk with  with several other adults who were also drunk. One of the little girls was there by herself with those adults. We decided to take her to our house for the weekend and call a neighbor to let the mother know where her daughter was, which worked out fine because the…See More
